Kidarah Talks: Genius

Genius, Kidarah’s first co-release with her producer of 4 years, Glenwood!, is the perfect soundtrack for halloween. With a spooky sound and lyrics about being unapologetically confident in your skills, this is the perfect track to show off your costume to this Halloween.

Genius is about the American horror story that lives in the City of Angels, Los Angeles. There are serpents everywhere, all trying to blend in and get close to the people who have true, raw talent. People who want to leech on and take advantage of talented people are around every corner. Anyone who can find a way to use YOUR talents to make THEM money - can and WILL scam, use, manipulate, and attempt to destroy you at any cost.

I’ve learned through pursuing music that it is my job as an independent artist to not only learn how to be the baddest bitch I can be and develop my skills, but I must also learn to literally detect and fight off evil looking to harm me along the way. Genius is about being confident in your skills and your ability to protect them. When I said “serpents been begging me to be be-founded by secrets I keep” I meant exactly what I said. These snakes just want to know how they can write songs like me or somehow steal my entire life, but the next line “dive into study cuz stuntin’ just cannot compete” says it all. The thing is, the only secret I have is that I’ve been working my whole entire life to be who I am today. I started gymnastics at 6 months old. I was invited onto team when I was three. I quit when I was nine, joined cheer, dance team, theatre summer camp, majored in theatre in high school, did live television appearances, and more all while getting all A’s before the age of 18. I’ve been disciplined literally my whole entire life. The only way to improve is to practice and study. Focus on yourself until your life and skillset reflects exactly who you want to be. Don’t ever stop until you have reached it. There is no secret to becoming incredible. All you can do is do your best and stay focused. At least that’s what I’ve done.

It seems that following your dreams could make you appear to be a fool, but if you stay consistent and never give up - one day, those haters will see that your drive and your dream is exactly what makes you a Genius.

Happy Halloween 🧠🕷️👻
